You might have noticed lately that Google is getting weirdly accurate with its search results. One of the reasons this is happening is because Google has started to integrate AI into their search algorithm.ย One of the key factors that Google uses to decide what results to display for you is search intent.
Search intent is Googleโs best guess at what type of results youโre looking for. There are four main types of search intent, and in this weekโs vlog we break them down for you.
1) Informational Search Intent
This is where you are clarifying uncertainty. Examples of this type of search would be โWhat is SEO?โ or โHow to use Adobe Lightroomโ.
2) Navigational Seach Intent
This type of intent is when you are trying to reach a specific website using Google. So examples might be typing โchase.com loginโ or โfacebookโ into Google instead of typing in the URL directly.
3) Commercial Search Intent
When youโre looking to buy something, this is the type of search intent you have. Examples of this type of intent would โwhere to buy a cameraโ or โSEO agency services Orange Countyโ.
4) Transactional Search Intent
This is when you are trying to complete a task online. An example of this would be signing up for an event, or registering for a newsletter, reserving an appointment, etc.
The better you can understand the intent that your prospects have, the easier it is to shape your content to suit their needs and wants. Once Google grasps that you are meeting a specific type of need, it will show your results more often in the search results.
