A blog shows your visitors that you are up-to-date with the latest trends and news. It also creates more authority for your brand.

The more content you have on your site, the more chances for Google to rank them, and for people to see them.

It also is a huge opportunity for backlinks from other websites, and a great way to share your site via social posts.

Here are four ways to drive more traffic to your blog and your website.

1) Post Regularly and Consistently

You know the old saying ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’, well neither is a successful blog.

Ideally, if you can post once or twice a week that will keep you looking current to your site visitors.

To a site visitor, when they see a blog has not been updated for a few months, it can feel like the company is out of date with everything.

Ensure that what you are putting out is high quality and relevant. If you aren’t a strong writer, it can be worth hiring one to help you.

Brands like Hubspot have built their entire brand on the back of posting high-quality content every day, and adding value to their readers’ lives.

2) Use SEO Tools to Choose Content Topic

It’s great to come up with your own ideas for blog content, however, it’s more important to align your blog content with the search engine’s popular search queries.

One tool we use is SEMRush which allows us to search for specific niche topics, keywords, and questions that people are asking. We take time to create content that matches the search intent and helps Google to provide quality answers.

You can take a look at the top-ranking content pieces in your niche, and then decide ways that you can create a better quality article. Adding more information, up-to-date statistics, and great examples will help you rise to the top of the search results for those keywords.

3) Syndicate Your Content

Once you have spent time creating blog content, you can then repurpose and syndicate it on social media.

By sharing your content online in different formats (audio, video, infographics) and sharing it on different social platforms you can use your current online network to bring in more people.

The best platforms to share your blog content are LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and even Instagram (you can share your blog content as part of the captions in a post).

Also, remember to tag your social media posts with the right hashtags for your posts.

This tactic is especially important on Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn because these platforms offer a lot of discoverable content through hashtags.

When posting to social, it can also make sense to share a brief summary of the best idea in your social media description.

That way, the reader will be intrigued to know more and read the article.

Useful Content Gets Shared

Most important of all, remember that all the content you share should be useful and insightful.

Don’t just create posts that promote your products and services. Instead, find ways to be useful and insightful in your content posts.

This approach will make visitors to your site want to read it, share it, and return to your site more often.
